THE CLUB COURT CARDS
The commoners of the pack, clubs are said to
represent the poor and destitute. Because of this the other suits
(particularly the social climbing diamonds) tend to look down on them. But
the clubs are
also the suit connected with ambition, hoping to better themselves and drag
themselves out of the mire. They are represented in the tarot pack by
staves, a coarse and brutal weapon. Perfect for giving a black eye
