The inspiration behind "Cards on the Table" was to write a murder mystery that a small number of players could enjoy. Large murder mystery parties are excellent fun but can take a bit of organising. "Cards on the Table" allows you to have a evening of mystery with just four or five players.
As an avid card game player I decided that the King of Hearts, with his sword through his head, was a natural victim. And using the court cards as suspects allowed me free rein to implement elements of gambling, fortune telling and card playing throughout the game. You will not only solve a murder during this game, you will learn several interesting facts! And I make no apology for naming my game after one of Agatha Christie's greatest novels!
